"There is anxiety Greece's debt crisis will spread to other European countries, including Italy and Portugal. This condition makes investors away from emerging market assets. Anxiety is aggravate the stock move," said Byeon Ji Young, a currency analyst at Woori Futures Co. in Seoul.


Record, at 11:38, the South Korean won weakened 0.6 percent to 1084.81 per dollar. Meanwhile, the Thai baht fell 0.4 percent to 30.80, Malaysian ringgit weakened 0.4 percent to 3.0560, and the Philippine peso weakened 0.3 percent to 43.560.


While the Bloomberg-JPMorgan Asia Dollar Index fell 0.1 percent.


Mata wang Asia pagi ini terlihat melemah. Dengan demikian, pelemahan mata wang di kawasan Negara utama sudah terjadi selama tiga hari kebelakangan ini.

Salah satu penyebabnya,para pelabur telah beramai-ramai menyusun semula kepemilikan ke atas aset-aset emerging market kerana cemas krisis hutang Eropah akan kian memburuk.

"Ada kecemasan krisis hutang Yunani akan merebak ke negara-negara Eropah lainnya, termasuk Italia dan Portugal. Keadaan pasaran ini yang membuat para pelabur menjauhi aset emerging market. Kecemasan tersebut memperberat langkah saham," jelas Byeon Ji Young, currency analyst Woori Futures Co di Seoul.

Untuk rekod, pada pukul 11.38, won Korea Selatan melemah 0.6 % menjadi 1.084,81 per dollar. Sementara, baht Thailand melemah 0.4 % menjadi 30.80, ringgit Malaysia melemah 0.4 % menjadi 3.0560, dan peso Filipina melemah 0.3 % menjadi 43.560.
